AFIC Notes (AFIG) – Analysis

AFIC has just announced the launch of a new income offer: AFIC Notes. The first round of access is through a broker firm allocation, prior to shareholder offer and listing in December.

The Notes will pay a half yearly coupon at 6.25%pa and are due to mature 28th February 2017. The bond will be tradable on the ASX.

This issue will be used primarily to purchase securities of companies should appropriate investment opportunities arise.

Healthscope Loan Notes – Analysis

Healthscope is the latest company to enter the retail bond market with a five and a half year bond (Healthscope Notes).

Healthscope, a private healthcare service provider and operator of private hospitals and pathology labs around Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand, was privatised by the Carlyle Group and TPG in October of this year. They are looking to raise between $170m and $215m to refinance the bridging loan facility utilised during the acquisition.

ANZ Convertible Preference Securities 2 (ANZPA) – Analysis

ANZ has just announced the launch of its new hybrid security, CPS 2. The first round of funding is open through a broker firm allocation, prior to general offer and institutional offer before listing in December.

The securities will be rated A+ by agency Standard & Poor’s meaning they are an investment grade hybrid considered relatively low risk.
